Things To Do in Mesa: The Orange Patch

Every year during the citrus season (December through about April), you’ll find the tastiest, juiciest oranges at The Orange Patch. Even better, you can pick your own oranges and other fruits yourself. Not only will you save a bundle, but it’s also a bunch of fun for the whole family! You can pick oranges, tangerines, and grapefruit yourself and purchase many other local fruits and veggies. Afterward, be sure to check out the many delicious (and locally-made) delights in their store. It’s a fun outdoor activity, and the store owners and staff are so friendly! Make the Kids Happy at Golfland & Sunsplash

If you haven’t heard, it gets pretty hot here in Mesa. When it does, cooling off at the pool is always nice. Then again, cooling off in a massive pool with lots of other kids is even better! For that, there’s Sunsplash, a wicked waterpark with nearly three dozen water-themed rides and attractions. From wave pools to slides, rafts, and much more, your kids won’t know where to start! (Plus, they’ll be exhausted and sleep great later!) For the bigger kids, and mom and dad, try Golfland right next door! (The two theme parks are attached!) Do keep in mind that Golfland is open all year, unlike Sunsplash, which is only open in summer. Whichever you choose, Golfland and Sunsplash are two of the most amazing things to do in Mesa, AZ!

Things To Do in Mesa: The i.d.e.a. Museum

If something fun, creative, and inspiring for the kids is what you seek, the i.d.e.a. Museum is practically perfect. The entire museum is geared towards children. It encourages their creativity through the use of hands-on exhibits and experiences. The museum also helps children express themselves through art and offers different exhibitions throughout the year. While admittedly for children, the i.d.e.a Museum also provides fun opportunities for adults, including the same, hands-on participation. We recommend it, though, for families with kids under 12. (Older kids might get bored.)

Take in a Ballgame at Sloan Park

Nothing beats a fun-filled afternoon at the baseball park, and it doesn’t get any better than Sloan Park! No, they don’t play big-league ball here; it’s all minor league. That being said, Sloan Park is the home of the Chicago Cubs during the spring season. (They’re a perennial favorite with a storied past!) Also, minor league baseball (in our humble opinion) is more personal and exciting. You can feel a real connection between the players, the game, and the fans. In other words, watching a game here is one of the most fun and exciting things to do in Mesa, AZ!
